Clo Insulation was proud to collaborate with technical apparel brand 686 on its NASA-inspired outerwear collection.

Founded in 1992, 686 specialises in high-performance clothing for skiing, snowboarding and outdoor adventures. Its NASA collection draws inspiration from space exploration, astronaut equipment and the visionaries who continue to push the boundaries of science and technology.

NASA has led developments in human spaceflight, aeronautics and scientific discovery since 1958. Its work includes studying Earth and the wider universe, developing new technologies and supporting missions to the Moon, Mars and beyond.

The 686 collection combined this space-inspired design with advanced mountain performance. Selected garments used body-mapped insulation to retain warmth in key areas while allowing excess heat and moisture to escape during activity.

At the heart of the garments was our Vivo Performance: Eco insulation. Made from 93% recycled fibres, its innovative perforated construction provides 30% greater breathability without compromising warmth.

The result was a collection that brought together bold design, technical performance and more responsible material choices - ready for exploration both on and off the mountain.
