Sheltersuit x Clo Insulation
Clo Insulation was proud to partner with the Sheltersuit Foundation, supplying high-performance thermal insulation for use in its innovative shelter suits.
Sheltersuit is a humanitarian organisation that creates protective clothing for people experiencing homelessness, displacement and other difficult living conditions. Each suit combines a warm, weather-resistant jacket with a detachable sleeping-bag section, helping provide immediate protection from cold, wind and rain when safe accommodation is not available.
The suits were distributed in partnership with Caritas, a global aid organisation that supports vulnerable communities through homelessness services, emergency relief, healthcare and outreach programmes.
For this project, the insulation needed to meet demanding thermal-resistance requirements and provide protection in temperatures as low as –40°C. It also had to remain lightweight, flexible and suitable for use in a durable garment that could be carried and used in harsh outdoor conditions.
This collaboration demonstrated how technical textile innovation can be used to support a meaningful humanitarian cause. Clo Insulation was privileged to work alongside Sheltersuit and Caritas to help provide warmth, protection and dignity to people facing extreme cold without adequate shelter.
